As you may already know, it’s very important to take great care of your toothbrush. However, that might be a difficult task if you’re not sure how to do so. So, to help you keep your toothbrush in tip-top shape, our experienced dental team recommends that you do the following things:

-Rinse your toothbrush:  To keep your toothbrush clean after each use, it’s best to rinse your brush with tap water after you are done brushing. Rinsing your brush will help wash away the bacteria, saliva, and toothpaste that reside on your bristles.

-Let your toothbrush dry: Once you are done rinsing your toothbrush, make sure you store it in an upright position to let it air dry. This is important because moist environments are breeding grounds for bacteria, and if you have a dry toothbrush, your chances of having an infected brush decrease.

-Take care of your toothbrush while traveling: When you travel, do your best to keep your toothbrush in a plastic toothbrush container. That way your brush won’t get squished or flattened. However, please do not place the toothbrush in the container right after you use it. It’s vital to let your toothbrush dry first.
